Welcome to the
28th Biennial
Meeting of the
International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD)

June 21~25, 2026

Location : Incheon, South Korea

Welcome Address from ISSBD’s
President Dr. Tina Malti

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the vibrant city of Incheon for the 2026 Conference of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD).

As president of the ISSBD, I’m thrilled to bring together dedicated developmentalists from around the world to share research across disciplines, discuss trends, and explore new directions.

For over five decades, our Society has supported research that deepens our understanding of positive human development across the lifespan in diverse contexts. Today, as global challenges like social inequality, climate change, and war threaten developmental outcomes, humanity and mutual respect remain possible. The dynamic interplay of positive and negative forces, within individuals, relationships, and cultures, makes studying positive lifespan development both challenging and deeply rewarding. This conference is an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and help redefine the human journey in our shared world.

Incheon, with its unique blend of tradition and modernity, offers an inspiring setting for this exchange of ideas. As a gateway to South Korea and a hub of technological and cultural innovation, Incheon reflects the dynamism and forward-thinking spirit that aligns with the goals of ISSBD. I encourage you to explore this remarkable city and, if time allows, visit Seoul, a metropolis with a rich cultural heritage.
I look forward to meeting with you in Incheon and to a productive and engaging conference.

With Warm Wishes,
Tina Malti, Ph.D. ISSBD President
