Visa & K-ETA
Visa
Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain an entry visa before landing. However, ordinary passport holders from countries/regions permitted under a visa-exemption agreement, reciprocity, or national interest may enter without a visa.

K-ETA(Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)
Nationals from visa-free countries/regions must obtain K-ETA before boarding a flight or ship to Korea.
- The application fee is 10,000 KRW (approx. USD 7–8), non-refundable, with an additional online payment charge.
- Processing normally takes up to 72 hours, but may take longer depending on circumstances; no expedited review is available.
- K-ETA is valid for 3 years (2 years if applied before July 3, 2023), but only until the passport expiry date if earlier.
- The validity of K-ETA does not correspond to the permitted length of stay; the actual stay period is determined by Korea’s visa-free entry agreement with each country.
- False or inaccurate information may lead to cancellation, penalties, or entry restrictions.
- K-ETA is not a visa and does not guarantee entry into Korea. The final decision is made by the immigration officer at the port of entry.
- Holders of K-ETA are exempt from submitting an arrival card.
- A new K-ETA is required if the passport is reissued or if criminal record or infectious disease information changes.
- Travel information such as purpose of visit, address, contact, dates, or companions must be updated on the K-ETA website before entry.
- If you hold both a K-ETA and a valid Residence Card or visa, the Residence Card or visa takes precedence.
